In medicine, rural health or rural medicine is the interdisciplinary study of health and health care delivery in rural environments. The concept of rural health incorporates many fields, including geography, midwifery, nursing, sociology, economics, and telehealth or telemedicine.
The role of RHTC set up under MCI requirement of medical colleges is rising in implementation of NRHM phase 2 programme (2012 onwards); as private medical colleges are expanding in India and they can be an important supporter in public-private partnership for national health programmes. GIMSH is having RHTC-1 at Panagarh which is 7 KM from the College. The population covered here is 23611. Approx. 50-60 OPD is reported here on a daily basis.

RHTC of this private medical college is significantly contributing and supporting in RCH services of NRHM programme for primary health care system. RHTC of medical colleges can be an asset for public private partnership in NRHM programme.Apart from this another RHTC at Rajbandh has been developed, which is treated as RHTC-2 for providing better educational facilities to the students as well as providing extended medical care towards the society at large. The RHTC – 2 near Rajbandh isaround 1km from the College. Population covered here is around 25608. Approx. 70-80 OPD is reported here on a daily basis. Super speciality services are also rendered as required.
