Overview

The department of pathology is a bridge between the clinical and basic sciences. It helps the clinician in diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of a disease by using laboratory methods. It also has a scope of research in disease process by applying various laboratory techniques and instruments. It is proposed to have various light & fluorescence microscopy capability, frozen section, tissue culture facility, cytology, blood banking with components preparation, cell counter in hematology and UV spectroscope & Fourier transform infrared spectroscope.

The Pathology department also caters to the laboratory investigations for the patients of the hospital. This department has a modulate work load and provides simultaneous exposure to surgical pathology, hematology and transfusion medicine.
